How JotMind Handles Data
JotMind is software. It is not a data company, a lead seller, a list broker, or a consumer reporting agency. This page explains, in plain English, how data moves through JotMind and who is responsible for what. The binding terms are in our Terms of Service, Usage Policy and Privacy Policy, and in any signed agreement with your company.
The short version
- JotMind does not sell, rent, license or trade personal information. Not to customers, not to advertisers, not to anyone.
- Customers bring their own data. Property and contact information comes into a workspace through data accounts the customer opens, pays for, and holds in its own name, or that the customer enters itself.
- JotMind does not own the data in your workspace. Your company does. We claim no ownership of it.
- JotMind is not a party to your agreements with data providers. We are not their reseller, agent or sublicensor, and we do not receive commissions from them.
- Each workspace is separate. One customer cannot see another customer’s data, and we do not pool customer data into a shared database.
- AI results are suggestions. Anything the software or its AI produces can be incomplete, outdated or wrong. Verify before you rely on it or reach out.
- You are the caller. JotMind does not place calls, send texts, or send emails to the people in your workspace. Your company is responsible for its outreach and for following calling and email laws.
How a workspace gets its data
JotMind works the way an AI assistant or a spreadsheet works: it processes what you bring to it. Information enters a customer’s workspace in three ways:
- Through the customer’s own data accounts. A customer connects third-party services it has signed up for directly (for example, a property records service or a business contact service) by entering its own account keys. Lookups run under the customer’s account, under the customer’s agreement with that provider, at the customer’s cost.
- Entered by the customer. Notes, statuses, buildings added by hand, contacts the customer already knows, and outcomes the customer logs.
- Produced by the software from those inputs. Organizing, routing, reminders, and, where enabled for a workspace, AI processing of information already in that workspace or supplied by the customer.
JotMind’s own accounts run the platform itself: hosting, maps, and AI processing. They are not used to supply customers with property or contact data.

What JotMind is not
- Not a data broker. We do not collect personal information on our own account to sell or license to others.
- Not a lead service. We do not sell leads, lists or contact records.
- Not a consumer reporting agency. JotMind may never be used for decisions about credit, insurance, employment, housing, tenancy, or any other purpose covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
- Not a dialer or messaging service. We do not contact anyone on your behalf.
- Not a source of truth. AI and third-party information can be wrong. We say so on every card.
Things change
Privacy, data and AI laws are changing quickly, and so is our product. We will update these pages as the rules and the software change, post the new date at the top, and tell customers about material changes in advance. If a change in law makes a feature unlawful or riskier, we may change or switch it off.
